admiral and its namesake. It was here that the Hudson Bay Trading Post
was established in 1805 and today, has emerged as a significant hub for
the oil and gas industry. And if you wish to linger in this beautiful
place, there are plenty of budget- friendly bed and breakfasts, motels
and campgrounds complete with laundry facilities and tasty diners to
sample the fresh catch of the day.
A northward drive takes you into the unspoiled Yukon Territory for some
breathtaking views and wildlife sightings that will dazzle the nature
enthusiast in you. Take a nature walk and picnic at Wye Lake or
experience the mystery of the Aurora Borealis at the Electric Sky
Theatre in Watson. Good food, friendly camp grounds and the thrill of
the open sky awaits you at the Yukon, making this stop one of the most
sought after sights on an Alaskan Highway road trip.
Moving northward, additional towns worthy of a stop include Teslin,
Whitehorse, Destruction Bay, Beaver Creek, and Tok, making the Alaskan
